Mammoth Cave + Natural Bridge

Our next Kentucky stop was Mammoth Cave.  Turns out, there are not any mammoths in Mammoth Cave.  I should have read the brochure.  Oh wait, I didn’t get one.  We took the Dripstones and Domes tour.  500 stairs.  This was about the time I realized that my husband likes to exercise on vacations.  Ok, ok… it wasn’t really that bad.  Even this little cutie liked the adventure.

There were drips.  And domes.  It was pretty cool.

And then more driving.  You have to be comfortable when you read, you know.

Natural Bridge was pretty.  Quite a hike to get to the top, but we managed.  A wee bit of moaning and groaning, but we managed.

I look hot.  And you know I don’t mean HOT.

And back for some air conditioning, map review for our route home, and ipad time.

Because of the no mammoths thing at Mammoth Cave, I decided we’d take a little detour on the way home and have lunch at Big Bone Lick state park.  WOOHOOOOO!  Fake Mammoths!!!
